Forty-eight hour challenges always gets The Block contestants scrambling, and frequently see they come unstuck, but the results from last night’s 48-hour challenge were the best we’ve seen – dare I say ever – especially considering some past contestants haven’t been able to put up a room after seven days, let alone 48 hours! Are last night’s rooms a sign of things to come…
Josh and Elyse’s created a lot of work for themselves by creating a nib wall behind the bedhead, square set ceiling and sanding the floor. However their efforts were worth it. Not only did they create a flawless finish but also a beautiful individual bedroom.
Ronnie and Georgia produced last night’s winning room. They injected so much personality in this space by taking a real leap of faith on their personal style, and boy did that work out for them!
Hannah and Clint put their faith in trend colours and style, but unfortunately came up short as the room lacked the soul it needed to make a real impact amid the other super-high standard 48 hour challenge rooms.
Jason and Sarah invested a lot of their money into an original piece of artwork (a risky strategy and a big spend on a room you may not get to keep or enjoy the benefits of) but the artwork was absolutely amazing and I loved their sense of colour and style.
For two guys who live off the grid, Wombat and Sticks put up a really great room. They made their own bedhead and the artwork was their photography as well! Their own unique sense of style shone though in this one – I just hope they can pull together a more classic feel for the rest of their house.
