The boys love entertaining so improving their kitchen space was high priority. The orientation of the island bench really wasn’t working so we took it out and replaced it with a Seaview Cabinetry Corian ‘Glacier White’ kitchen bench, with Christopher Blank Bespoke integrated L-shaped timber benchtop, inbuilt device charging station, integrated sink and Roger Seller ‘Ark’ sink mixer in burnished brass.
The bench is a real show-stopper but it no longer interrupts the flow of the space. The island bench is far from my only highlight in this kitchen though. I love the way the Glasstek bronze mirrored splash back adds a touch of colour to Joe and John’s minimalist space and I followed that through into their bespoke bar which lends an almost sculptural feel to the kitchen, particularly styled with the Noritake vintage and modern glassware and crockery I chose to show it off a treat.
The boys’ kitchen wasn’t all style and no substance though. Even in an open plan space people always tend to congregate in the kitchen at parties so we popped Mark Tukey kitchen stools around the island bench and equipped John and Joe to take on some heavy-duty party planning with a Smeg PMU90 Concealed Rangehood, Westinghouse 90cm five-zone induction cooktop, oven and fridge, and a Vintec 40 Bottle Black Borderless Glass Reversible Door Dual Zone Wine Fridge so they always have a chilled bottle (or 40) at hand!
