I have been lucky to know Philip for nearly four years through his work for Trend Union, one of the world’s most respected trend forecasting companies. Headed by Lidewij Edelkoort, Trend Union create books that are tools used by international brands. I was in Paris in early 2017 and was able to catch up with Philip in the small three-hour window we both had available while we were in the same city. I drove for four hours in the wee hours of the morning from the Loire valley to catch Philip as he was boarding a plane to Milan.
In part one of my interview with Philip he shares with me how he got started in design, and how he ended up with one of the most enviable jobs in forecasting. I’m very much looking forward to Phillip’s TREND UNION 2019 Home and Fashion seminar in Melbourne on January 11, and sharing the rest of my interview with Phillip with you in the future.
