The most delicately beautiful of our annual celebrations, Easter is all about rebirth, nature and colour. From a design perspective, rebirth means organic shapes, natural materials, recycling and up-cycling to me.
I didn’t think I’d be saying this but I love seeing 80s influences making their return in furniture and soft furnishings, both recycled pieces and renewed interpretations of these familiar styles from those of us who can remember.
I’m talking rounded coffee tables, curved armrests on occasional chairs, whites mixed with soft pastel colours, country kitchens with timber and tiles, and bold geometric statement patterns.
Have you gone back to the future with a 1980s home makeover? Or do you have a beloved piece that dates back to the 1980s that you just can’t bear to part with? Share your stories and photos with me on my Facebook page, or on Twitter or Instagram.
