Life is hectic and I’m constantly asked how I sustain my energy levels through the day. I have to say there are a number of contributing factors including avoiding sugar and red meat, favouring alternative therapies over traditional medicine, and throwing myself into the projects I work on.
Then there’s this green smoothie, which I originally found on Kimberly Snyder’s website, and which I start every day with. This recipe created quite a stir when I posted it on social media a few years ago so, with ‘sustainability’ the theme of my newsletter this month, I thought it was a good time to dig it out and share it again.
Green Smoothie Recipe
- Generous handful of baby spinach.
- Juice of half a lemon
- 1 x green apple
- 1 x banana
- Water (start with a little, increase amount to modify consistency.
- 2 heaped teaspoons of Elle Mcpherson’s SUPER ELIXIR™ by WelleCo
- Sprinkle of Tumeric (to tackle inflammation)
- ½ Cucumber (a diuretic).
I try to start the day with this smoothie at least five times a week and even travel with a mini blender to make it easier to stick to my routine.
