Another of my new year’s resolutions has been to get in a yoga session every day. Because I am pinging around the country so much with Selling Houses Australia filming I don’t really have the luxury of going to classes at a studio, but I’ve found lots of 30-minute online video tutorials that focus on core strength, and they suit me perfectly. I like half-hour flows because they are achievable. If I set myself the goal of an hour, I wouldn’t always have time and I think it would be easy to fall out of the habit.
I’ve started getting up at sunrise and enjoying half an hour of peace and yoga as the sun comes up. It’s just beautiful and, if I have some extra time on my hands, I can always do a second half hour.
I’ve also been trying to do a weekly clinical Pilates session to help my sore back, but if I can’t manage once a week I make sure I do it fortnightly. And I’ve been walking with friends once a week. I have to admit that ‘workout’ is more about catching up that it is physical exercise. It’s mental therapy, and we always make sure we treat ourselves with a good brunch afterwards!
