Alex and Cathy’s house may have been on trend in the 90s, but 20 years later its Graceland façade was dated and tired. I couldn’t get rid of the portico shape without a major restructure of the roofline and the rigmarole of obtaining council approval, so it was a case of being simple in my approach.

Firstly, Quantum Timber Finishes boxed in the Graceland columns with Bowens cladding in Silver Top Victorian Ash. We then installed About Space modern black tube lights from the top of the underside for a dramatic new entrance. The exterior was refreshed with Taubmans ‘Newsprint’ and ‘Black Sea’.

A new Corinthian frosted glass door was installed and paired with a very modern front door handle with a hidden lock. This ensemble sits in a black aluminium reveal and compliments the other new windows installed throughout the house by Accent Windows.
