If you love Danish design, you’ll love the BoConcept store in Sydney. It’s the first anniversary since it’s opening in Australia and celebrates a long tradition (dating back to Denmark in 1952) of creating high-quality design furniture at affordable prices.
From its origins in Denmark, BoConcept is now in some of the great urban cities of the world including New York, Paris, Tokyo, Barcelona and London.
The great thing about their comprehensive range is that you can mix and match and choose fabrics, colours and finishes to create your own individual look.
From sofas, to chairs, dining settings to beds, and a wide range of accessories, the 2014 collection includes cutting-edge designs to basic, functional pieces.
And imagining how it might all look in your own home is made easy with the online design tool, Home Creator, where you can play with options like colours, sizes and designs and see them in 3D, complete with prices, instantly.
Below, PR manager Eliza Williams, shares a couple of her picks from the 2014 collection:
“The Cupertino desk is an all-you-need-in-one desk,” says Eliza. “It’s a small working table with great potential and also features an integrated sound system with Bluetooth enabled speakers.
“There are compartments for cables and storage hidden underneath the oak tops that provide a warm contrast to the white lacquer or black-stained oak veneer. The small size and clean lines of the table makes it very easy to fit in an efficient workspace without having a traditional office look.
“Taking us back to the stylish upper class homes of the 60s and 70s, the new Carlton sofa, represents an era when clean-lined furnishings were all the rage.
“The elegant and refined design has been revived by the original designer Anders Nørgaard. He has added very soft, comfortable cushions to bring a more contemporary and casual touch to the classic design. The thin seat frame in steel gives the sofa a very light, minimalistic expression too.
“And the smiling face of our Cuban Lady print is a bold statement that challenges anyone in the room not to smile back at her!” said Eliza.
