What an incredible experience going to the launch of Akira Isogawa’s new collection for Designer Rugs, “HIRAMEKI”. David Clarke from Vogue Living introduced Akira as a ‘humble’ man with incredible talent and when he took to the stage you couldn’t help but smile along with his beaming smile and heartfelt talk of his collection.

The rugs were hung around the room and spotlit which highlighted them as floating works of art jumping out from the rawness of the warehouse interior. The champagne flowed (as I stuck to sparkling water for Dry July), the conversation jostled with the music and the atmosphere was electric while at the same time casual and relaxed. It was nice to catch up with people I have only chatted with by phone or email of the past couple of years and some fellow associates. Was definitely nice to finally meet Jen from Interiors Addict, we felt like pen pals who had finally met!
