You may have seen my photos of the Taubmans launch at The Bridge Room restaurant last week, showing Ross Lusted’s edible inspiration from the new Taubmans Look Books.
Look out for the Look Books in paint stores later in September, but more on that later.
One of the schemes in the Flora’s Canvas look book is called Hydrangea Musing, which has big bursts of Taubmans colours Wild Violet, Windsor Purple and Fizzy Lime. Taking nature as my inspiration I nearly fell over when I saw the divine fabric on this chair and lampshade.
This and other great fabric designs are the brainchild of Sharyn Storrier-Lyneham. Some of you will remember her as the editor in chief of the Australian editions of Vogue Entertaining & Travel and Vogue Living throughout the 1990s and early 2000s.
Sharyn creates all the fabrics for her EDIT brand using her own photography and commissions of original artworks.
“My inspiration comes from many areas including vintage textiles and international travel,” says Sharyn. “I started life as a designer and I had always wanted to design fabric so when I left Vogue I set up EDIT.”
Her clients include Firmdale Hotels http://www.firmdalehotels.com who have boutique hotels in London and New York. They use the fabrics to upholster furniture and bedheads in their room and common areas such as these great designs.
Check out her website www.edit-group.com.au or blog www.interiorlist.com or visit the EDIT store at Shop 1, 92 Queen Street, Woollahra in Sydney.
