Award-winning interior designer, author, creative director, business owner, executive producer, musician and TV personality,  Shaynna Blaze is best known for her roles on the long-running series ‘The Block’ and ‘Selling Houses Australia,’ and for winning ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ in 2021. 

What is less widely known, is that Shaynna took her first steps as a singer and entertainer while she was studying design.  It’s a passion that began in her 20s and 30s with various cover and original bands.  She began song writing in her early 30s, but it is only now that Shaynna is breaking out as a songwriter and will be performing her original works in the coming months.  

Shaynna’s debut single ‘Warrior’ was initially inspired by co-writing a song with the much-loved ARIA Award winning and multi-platinum selling recording artist Singer, Songwriter, Performer, Musician and Producer Gary Pinto for Shaynna’s movie, ‘The Fort’ (which she produced and funded with her two children).

Shaynna’s love of soul, funk and acid jazz by the classic greats such as; Aretha Franklin, Sarah Vaughan, Dionne Warwick, Randy Crawford, and modern artists; Renee Geyer, Chaka Khan, Nelly Furtado, Dido and N’Dea Davenport, inspired Shaynna and Gary’s collaboration.  

In 2017, Shaynna was introduced to Gary Pinto through her good friend who believed they might connect as creatives.  What Shaynna initially thought would be a quick meet & greet, turned into an impromptu jam session, spurred on by Gary.  This initial catch-up saw them discuss musical direction and style, envisaging a collaboration and how they would start to make music.  This culminated in a library of songs, recorded over a two-year period in and out of COVID lock-downs.
