When I teamed up with Urban Road’s Creative Director, Suzie Atkin to create our third collection for Urban Road, I knew immediately I wanted to take inspiration from my years of travel around Australia and overseas, and more specifically, from gazing out of plane windows taking in the different shapes, patterns and palettes of the vistas below.

Since that initial spark of inspiration, I’ve put a lot of thought and care into the aerial landscapes we created for In Plane View, right down to the very last brush strokes and colour tweaks. I want this collection to resonate with a diverse number of stories and styles, and the tones, patterns, colours and textures – from warm, earthy sands to cool, blue oceans, to vibrant jewel-toned lakes, to far away fields – are designed to fit into any room in any home.

It is more of a lifestyle collection than my previous Urban Road collections. It’s about pattern, it’s about textures, and it’s also about micro-snaps. When you look at a landscape as a whole, you’re taking in the big picture but, because we zoom in on specific areas in this collection, the art creates the space for your imagination to run wild.

The collection is created to transport you beyond the image. Can you picture a farmer working in a field, a car driving by, a surfer in the ocean? There’s nothing I like better than people looking at artwork and putting themselves in that place, and I feel like these 12 pieces are transformative in that way.
